Fresh produce, especially when abundant in the summer months, can easily go to waste if we don’t have a plan for it. To avoid tossing produce:
- Create a meal plan and use fresh produce in the beginning of the menu to use it up faster. Consider having a leftover night on the menu or a soup/stew night to use up anything that is left.
- Use produce for snacks! Fresh veggies are great with hummus, dip, or cheese and crackers.
- Use produce for smoothies. There are endless combinations of fruits, vegetables, yogurt, and more!
